It’s the season of flashing banners, ticking countdowns, and sales so big they almost shout at you. And while there’s nothing wrong with a good bargain, we’ve always felt that the heart of gifting - the joy, the connection, the thoughtfulness - can get lost in all the noise.
This year, we decided it’s time to do things differently.
So we’re not going Black. We’re going Teal.
What Is Teal Friday?
Teal Friday is our calm, happy twist on the busiest shopping weekend of the year. Instead of rushing, scrolling, and racing to grab deals before they’re gone, we’re choosing to slow things down - to shop small, to support local, shop AUSTRALIAN MADE and to celebrate the joy of meaningful gifting.
Teal is the colour of our logo, but it’s also the colour of calm, creativity, and connection. It represents everything we stand for here at Adventure Awaits - heart, happiness, and that spark of adventure that makes life special.
So, while the rest of the world goes black, we’re staying true to our colour. We’re keeping it teal.
Why We’re Doing It Differently
At Adventure Awaits, we’re a small Australian business with a big heart. From our home base in country Victoria, our little team spends each day hand-picking gifts that make people smile - from clever travel gear and screen-free toys to beautiful Aussie-made keepsakes.
We’ve been part of the gifting world for over a decade, through our sister brands Caravanning with Kids and Slide n’ Dry Pegless Clotheslines, and one thing has always guided us: we believe that great gifts tell stories.
They’re not about the biggest discount or the flashiest trend - they’re about joy, nostalgia, and finding something that means something.
But Black Friday has always been a tricky time for small businesses like ours. We don’t have the margins that big-box stores do. We can’t slash prices by 70%. And honestly, we don’t want to.
Because what we offer is more than “stuff.” It’s experiences. Memories. The laughter that fills a campsite. The proud smile of a child filling in their Kids Travel Journal for the first time. The ease of pegging up the washing with a Slide n’ Dry clothesline while the sun sets over a caravan park.
That’s why Teal Friday was born - to bring the focus back to meaningful moments instead of mindless sales.
