What is new in the 2.0

Fox & Leo have made two changes to the original, and both are the sort of thing you only think of after a few trips.

There is now a hidden AirTag pocket. Slip one in and you can find your wallet from your phone, which is a quietly brilliant idea when you consider that this is the thing holding your passport, your cards and your boarding pass.

And there are now three document sections instead of two. Enough for a family's passports, or your documents kept separate from someone else's, without the shuffling.

The leather is the same as the Fox & Leo glasses cases, which is to say it is the good stuff. It will look better in five years than it does out of the box.

Will my phone fit?
The back pocket takes a phone up to 163mm high and 77mm wide, which covers an iPhone 16 Pro Max in a basic case. The thing to check is what is stuck to the back of yours. A pop socket, a card holder or a ring grip will stop it fitting in any of the pockets.

Does it come with an AirTag?
No, the pocket is there and the AirTag is yours to add. Worth doing, given this is the wallet holding your passport and your cards.

What does RFID protection actually do?
It blocks the signal that contactless cards use, so they cannot be read by a scanner through your bag. It is built into the wallet, so there is nothing to switch on or remember.

How many passports does it hold?
Three document sections, so a family's passports fit comfortably, or you can keep your own documents separate from someone else's without shuffling through everything at the counter.

Can the strap come off?
Yes, it is detachable, so you can wear it crossbody through an airport and then carry it as a clutch or slip it into a bag once you have landed. It adjusts from 81cm to 141cm.

Should I get the Original or the 2.0?
The 2.0 is the version Fox & Leo are making from here. We have one Original left on the shelf, and once it goes, that is it. The difference is small: the Original has two document sections plus a dedicated boarding pass sleeve, the 2.0 has three combined sections and the AirTag pocket. Everything else, including the crossbody strap, is the same on both.

Is it good for domestic travel too?
It is. The passport sections hold anything document-sized, so it works just as well for licences, registration papers, tickets and booking confirmations on a road trip or a caravan lap as it does at an international terminal.
