This versatile woven throw is more than just a blanket. Designed to move with you through everyday life, it can be used as a picnic rug at the beach or park, a cosy lounge throw, a bedspread, beach towel, wall tapestry or even a tablecloth when entertaining guests.
Crafted from 100% recycled cotton, it offers warmth, texture and vibrant artwork while also being environmentally conscious. Whether displayed in your home or taken along on adventures, this stunning throw brings both beauty and meaning to every space.
The Story Behind The Art
The Drift Of Our Elders is inspired by the passing down of knowledge, culture and traditions through generations.
At the base of the artwork, elders stand side by side representing strength, wisdom and connection. From them flows a river of knowledge across the piece, symbolising the continuous sharing of learning and cultural values.
At the centre sits a sacred yarning circle, a place of storytelling, discussion and connection. Surrounding this space are children, women, men and elders gathered together sharing stories of the land, sea and sky.
These stories are represented through powerful symbols including the palm tree, turtle and moon, with ochre textures and colours weaving together the message of culture, connection and community.
About The Artist
Taylor-Lee is a proud young Kungadidji Indigenous artist from the southern Gold Coast. At just 14 years old, she is already making an impact with her artwork, which often reflects her love of the ocean, surfing and nature.
In 2023, her NAIDOC Week artwork was selected as one of six highly commended pieces by the Queensland Government. Soon after, she was awarded the Young, Black & Proud Scholarship for her art.
Taylor-Lee now continues creating artwork through Ochre Sisters, named in honour of herself and her younger sister, sharing her cultural stories and creativity with the world.
